Arca Continental, Coca-Cola bottler in Mexico, earns US$ 221 million in the first quarter

Arca Continental, one of the largest Coca-Cola bottlers in Latin America, has obtained a net profit of 3,761 million Mexican pesos (US$ 221 million) in the first quarter, which is a figure very similar to that achieved by the company in the same period of the previous year, with an increase of 0.8% year-on-year.

Net sales also remained stable compared to the previous year, reaching 50,743 million Mexican pesos (US$ 2,982 million), 0.1% more compared to the first three months of 2023.

"During the quarter, we achieved positive performance in most of our operations, despite the strong appreciation of the Mexican peso against other currencies," the company said.

By markets, Arca Continental invoiced 7.7% more in the first quarter in Mexico, reaching 23,313 million Mexican pesos (US$ 1,370 million). Meanwhile, revenue fell in South America by 9.9% year-on-year and in the United States by 3%.

Meanwhile, costs fell 1.8%, as a result of lower prices in most raw materials, as well as favorable exchange rate hedges.

For its part, the gross operating result (Ebitda) grew by 1.2% in year-on-year terms, up to 9,663 million Mexican pesos (US$ 567 million). The operating result was 7,531 million Mexican pesos (US$ 442 million), 2% more.

The general director of Arca Continental, Arturo Gutiérrez, has highlighted that 2024 has started with favorable results by registering stability in sales and an expansion in Ebitda margins, driven by the strength of its sustainable business model "even in challenging environments in the territories."
