Hispanic adaptation of the Dutch original "Adam looking for Eve", it is a contest with simple rules: the participants must go in search of love and to do so they get rid of everything, even their clothes.
A success for the Spanish station Cuatro.com was the premiere of its reality show "Adam and Eve", a dating show in which men and women walk naked on a paradise island. The audience for the first episode broadcast this week almost reached 3 million, being the best program premiere in the history of the station.
Men were the ones who preferred it the most (16%), with the group between 13 and 24 years old being the best age group (24%).
The basic idea is that a couple emerges from the program. The trailer that was shown before the broadcast showed sensual massages that they give to each other, horseback riding, some arguments and even the first kisses. The expectation remained high.
"Adam and Eve" is the Hispanic adaptation of the Dutch original "Adam looking for Eve." The rules of the contest are simple: the participants must go in search of love and to do so they get rid of everything, even their clothes.
In a small island-like paradise they meet, although with the usual process in reverse: first they will go naked and at the end of their dates they will end up dressed.
The initial meetings of the contestants were somewhat embarrassing and they even covered their bodies with their hands or pillows. There are also scenes of coexistence, some romantic moments including a kiss and, as expected, the discussions typical of any reality show.
More than a thousand participants participated in the casting, leaving only 35. The host of the show, Mónica Martínez, says that "it is a very funny and very interesting program. Spanish society is prepared for what it is going to see," she says.
The production gradually varied its version of the program, because at first they assured that the images would be distant, never close-ups and there could even be pixelated scenes. However, the first chapter was quite rich in images for all tastes.
"Pixelating the images would take away from the naturalness of the program and the nudes are not the important thing in the story. The team has done something magnificent and takes very natural and elegant shots in which they do not show what is there, but rather what is being told. No "I believe that nudes will provoke a revolution."
