The Brazilian investment bank BTG Pactual has reached around US$562 million in net profit in the first quarter of the year, which represents an increase in its profits of 27.6% compared to the same period of the previous year.
As reported by the entity this Monday, sales have risen above US$ 1,141.9 million. This figure is 23% higher than that achieved by BTG Pactual in the first three months of last year.
Operating expenses have increased by 14% year-on-year, up to US$ 468.8 million. The largest items have been allocated to administrative expenses, salaries and benefits and bonuses.
For its part, the operating result was US$ 785 million, a figure 38.2% higher than that recorded by the Brazilian bank in the first quarter of 2023.
The entity has been "proud" to achieve a record turnover and profit, combined with "efficient" cost control, despite the challenging macroeconomic context and the usual negative seasonality of the first quarter of the year, which often affects the results of this period.
