Their entry into the list of the 100 most influential in the world according to TIME for this year places them alongside global companies such as Google, Amazon, Microsoft, OpenAI, Nvidia, TikTok and Disney.
Multivertical company Rappi and Brazilian neobank Nubank stand out as the only Latin American companies included in Time's list of the 100 most influential companies in the world for 2024.
Nubank's entry into this list establishes it as the most valuable financial institution in Latin America, a milestone that comes just after registering a 3.8% increase in its price this Tuesday, reaching US$58.2 billion, thus surpassing Itaú Unibanco Holding SA, valued at US$56 billion. Meanwhile, Rappi's recognition among the world's most transformative organizations highlights its role in shaping the future of commerce and technology.
"We have always had a mission to improve people's quality of life, drive progress and encourage entrepreneurship in Latin America through technology. Being recognized globally for our purpose and influence is not only a milestone for Rappi, but a source of pride for the entire region. This recognition reinforces our commitment to continue breaking barriers and creating positive changes," commented Simón Borrero, CEO of Rappi.
Founded in 2015, Rappi has rapidly expanded its services to become an essential part of the daily lives of millions of users. From grocery delivery to financial services, Rappi has continually evolved to meet the needs of its customers, driving economic growth and providing new opportunities in the region.
This recognition by Time follows in the footsteps of other companies such as Mercado Libre, which has been highlighted previously, further consolidating the region's growing influence on the global stage.
