Minerva Foods issued a communication to the market this Friday after the news became known late on Thursday.

The Commission for the Promotion and Defense of Competition of Uruguay (CPDC)—a decentralized body of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF)—rejected the request of the Brazilian group Minerva, which had the intention of purchasing three Marfrig refrigeration plants in Uruguay. , as reported by Telenoche and confirmed by El Observador .

Minerva informed its shareholders and the market in general this Friday that so far it has not received any decision from the competent authorities regarding the rejection of the sale of Marfrig's assets to its company.

“The company reiterates its commitment to, in accordance with applicable regulations, keep its shareholders and the market in general informed about any relevant act or fact related to the matter and remains available to provide any additional clarification that may be necessary,” it says. public communication.

The three plants that Minerva wanted to acquire were the refrigerators that Marfrig has in Colonia, La Caballada and Inaler in San José.

The Minerva Foods group had announced its intention to purchase months ago and hoped that the CPDC would authorize the economic concentration.
