This is a favorable scenario for the economy, considering that in 2023, 14 awards were achieved in public-private associations and asset projects for a total of US$ 2.3 billion, an amount 22 times greater than what was achieved in 2022 and three times more to what was registered in the period 2019 – 2022.
The Private Investment Promotion Agency (ProInversión) exceeded US$ 5,000 million in awards, under the modalities of Public Private Partnerships (PPP) and Asset Projects, at the end of the first half of the year, reported its executive director, José Salardi .
“With the signing of the addendum to exploit phosphate rock in Bayóvar (yesterday), which commits investments of 940 million dollars, we are going to close the first semester with more than 5,000 million dollars awarded, promoting private investment,” he stated.
In this way, he said that they are getting closer to reaching the goal established to achieve awards of US$8,000 million.

Thus, by 2024 ProInversión's goal is to achieve a record in awards with 40 projects in the modalities of Public Private Partnerships (PPP) and Asset Projects.
“We are going to achieve the objective that we have as a government in awards for this year, which will allow us to continue making progress in closing the country's infrastructure gap and thereby improve the quality of life of Peruvians,” Salardi stressed.
Salardi highlighted yesterday the signing of the addendum that will allow the exploitation of phosphate rock in Bayóvar, which commits investments of US$ 940 million in the Piura Region, because it will guarantee the local supply of fertilizers.
“Peru will be able to produce fertilizers at low cost and very affordable for the Peruvian farmer. “It is an environmentally friendly fertilizer that will allow us to support the country's great agricultural potential,” he commented.
As ProInversión we are working hand in hand with all sectors to develop new projects.
“With the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation we have an interesting project to implement new crop fields on the coast that will allow the exportable amount of agricultural products to double in the coming years,” he commented.
Along these lines, he said that to give sustainability to this Government projection, the supply of inputs is very important, as with the local production of fertilizers.
