Spanish government authorizes signing of agreement on air transport with Brazil

The agreement develops and modifies the legal framework applicable to the operation of regular air services between both countries.

This Tuesday, the Council of Ministers of Spain approved the text authorizing the signing of the Agreement on Air Transport between the European country and Brazil.

The text of said agreement on Air Transport between Spain and Brazil was signed by both nations in Nairobi (Kenya) on December 11, 2018.

The agreement develops and modifies the legal framework applicable to the operation of regular air services between both countries and is based on a mixed agreement, to which the European Union and Spain and, on the other, Brazil are parties, acting jointly. .

Likewise, the agreement includes the usual formula of this type of bilateral agreements on air services and introduces in its articles the administrative clauses that the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) recommends its Member States include in agreements on air services.

As this is a mixed competition agreement between Spain and the European Union (EU), all the precepts of the European Parliament Regulation on the negotiation and application of air transport services agreements between Member States and third countries have been complied with for its conclusion. , by including in its articles the standard principles and clauses established and required by the European Union.
