The transaction was closed with the signing of the share purchase contract, without precedent conditions to be met, and the payment has been made in full on the same date, as reported by the Brazilian oil company.
Petrobras has signed a contract for the transfer of its entire 30% stake in the Brentech Energía thermoelectric plant to Enegen, which previously owned 70% of the company, for an amount of US$ 2 million.
The transaction was closed with the signing of the share purchase contract, without precedent conditions to be met, and the payment has been made in full on the same date, as reported by the oil company.
The transfer is in line with Petrobras' strategy to decarbonize its operations, optimize its thermoelectric portfolio and prioritize investments in high-efficiency natural gas-fired thermoelectric plants.
Brentech is made up of a single asset: the Temporary Business Union (UTE) Goiânia II. Located in Aparecida de Goiânia (in the State of Goiás), this UTE uses diesel motor generators, with a total installed capacity of 145 megawatts (MW).
The unit entered commercial operation in January 2009 and its energy sales contracts in the regulated environment ended in December 2023. It is currently in the demobilization process.
"As the Goiânia II UTE runs on diesel and has no synergies with our activities, the company does not adhere to Petrobras' strategy, which seeks integration and migration for a portfolio with a lower carbon footprint," he maintained.
