The Government of the Dominican Republic aims to turn the country into a fully developed one within a decade, with the goal of doubling its Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by 2036.

This was announced by the president of the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader, who has presented all the actions that the Government implements so that the country moves towards a fully developed Dominican Republic, for which he highlighted the commitment and support of all Dominicans is required.

So far, the obstacles of the pandemic, paralysis of key sectors, the Russia-Ukraine war, the slowdown of the economy to combat inflation and the border conflict have been overcome.

In that same sense, President Abinader has highlighted the recognition of international organizations regarding the country's economy, which value the leadership of the Dominican Republic in terms of economic growth in Latin America.

To become a fully developed country, the president has pointed out that this implies creating 1.7 million new jobs, tripling the average salary, eliminating extreme poverty, extending life expectancy by 6 years, achieving a higher level of investment and being the most prosperous economy in Latin America.

To achieve this, the president has specified that reforms must be made in areas such as institutions; justice and democracy; infrastructure and energy; fiscal and macroeconomic stability; health and education; work dynamics and innovation; technology and business dynamics.
