Petrobras concludes the sale of its 18.8% stake in the electricity company UEGA

UEG Araucaria is a Brazilian company whose asset is a natural gas thermoelectric plant located in Paraná. It came into operation in 2002 and has a total installed capacity of 484 megawatts.

Petrobras has closed the sale transaction of its 18.8% stake in the share capital of UEG Araucária (UEGA) to Ambar Energia for an amount of 60.3 million Brazilian reals (US$ 10.7 million).

This transaction was carried out by Petrobras exercising its right of tag-along or joint purchase and adhering, as seller, to the share purchase contract signed between Copel and Copel GET, both partners of Petrobras in UEGA, for the sale of their respective shareholdings. .

Once the preceding conditions were met, the operation was concluded this Tuesday with the payment of 47.3 million reais (US$8.4 million) to Petrobras, already with the adjustments provided for in the sales contract.

UEGA is a company whose asset is a natural gas thermoelectric plant (combined cycle, with two gas turbines and 1 steam turbine) located in Paraná. It came into operation in 2002 and has a total installed capacity of 484 megawatts (MW).

At the beginning of June of this year, Âmbar Energia, part of the J&F group, signed different agreements for the acquisition of Eletrobras' portfolio of thermoelectric plants. The agreement includes the acquisition of 12 natural gas power plants in operation and a project for the implementation of a natural gas thermoelectric plant in Manaus (AM).

Together, the 13 units have an installed capacity of 2.1 gigawatts (GW) of energy, expanding Âmbar's portfolio to 4.6 GW. The transaction had a value of up to R$ 4.7 billion, of which R$ 1.2 billion is earn-out.

Currently, Âmbar has 27 power generation plants from different sources. There are 5 thermoelectric plants, 16 hydroelectric plants, 5 photovoltaic plants and one biogas plant, in addition to 102 rooftop photovoltaic plants.
