Eductrade is awarded new sanitation and energy projects in Peru and Nicaragua for US$ 56 million

The projects include drinking water and sanitation networks in Arequipa (Peru) and the improvement of the sewage system in Chinandega (Nicaragua).

Eductrade, a Spanish multinational specialized in the development of projects in the water, energy, health and education sectors, has been awarded two new projects in its Water and Energy divisions in Peru and Nicaragua with a total value of 52 million euros (US $56.8 million).

Firstly, in the district of Chala, province of Caravelí (Arequipa, Peru), it will participate in the project to expand and improve drinking water and sanitation services in this area, as reported by the company in a statement.

This work, which amounts to more than 36 million euros (US$ 39.3 million), includes the installation of new home connections and networks, both for drinking water and sanitation, to the respective treatment plants.

In addition, it includes the construction and assisted operation of a reverse osmosis desalination plant to produce drinking water and also the wastewater treatment plant, with the respective outfalls.

For its part, in Nicaragua it is working on the construction of the sanitary sewage system networks for the city of Chinandega, directly serving 136,000 inhabitants.

The project includes the installation of two new pumping stations (EBAR) and the rehabilitation of an existing one, in addition to the implementation of more than 7,000 new home connections, for an amount of more than 16 million euros (US$ 17.4 million ).
