They accumulate expansion of 6% in the first five months of the year, according to the Central Bank.
The sale abroad of non-traditional agricultural products totaled 594 million dollars in May 2024, an amount 13.5% higher than the same month in 2023, reported the Central Reserve Bank (BCR).
According to the BCR, this result is mainly explained by the high prices of agro-export products, whose growth was 24% year-on-year, associated with the lower Peruvian supply in the world market after the adverse weather conditions last year.
In the accumulated January-May period, exports of these non-traditional products amounted to US$3,290 million, an amount that represented a growth of 6% compared to the same period of the previous year (US$3,105 million).
This advance was driven by higher prices of non-traditional agricultural products, which increased 23.3% during the period in question.
