Uruguayan exports of goods increased by 14% between January and August of this year, driven by foreign sales of soybeans and beef.
The Uruguay XXI Institute reported on Monday that foreign sales – including those in free trade zones – amounted to US$ 8.54 billion in the first eight months of the year.
During the period, pulp sales stood out for US$ 1,607 million and an increase of 19%.
In addition, beef recorded a good performance with US$ 1.23 million and a year-on-year increase of 1%. Soybeans came in third place, but recorded an increase of 195% compared to 2023 with exports of US$ 879 million.
