The Minister of Energy and Mines, Rómulo Mucho, confirmed that details of the work to be carried out at the Peruvian state oil company will soon be announced.
Peru's Energy and Mines Minister Rómulo Mucho said today that Petroperú will continue to operate and that there will be no changes in the board of directors of the state oil company, seeking to reassure the markets.
"I want to give a message of reassurance to the citizens, to the markets, that we are working hard to make Petroperú viable, that it will continue to operate so as not to impact those who serve, especially the most remote areas of the country," he said on RPP .
“At the appropriate time, between today and tomorrow, we will see all the details of the formula to be able to give support to Petroperú and also tell them that there are no changes for the moment and that we continue working together with the President of the Republic (Dina Boluarte), the Prime Minister (Gustavo Adrianzén), the Minister of Economy and Finance (José Arista) and myself,” he added.
Rómulo Mucho confirmed that there will be no changes in the board of directors of Petroperú and that details of the work to be carried out at the state oil company will soon be announced.
"There are no changes, I think that with this I can confirm the decision. I have heard quite a few opinions, all very good, by the way, because everyone is concerned about the situation of this company and obviously all of that is taken into account as well," he said.
"I can only tell you that we will provide all the details of the work we have been doing at the appropriate time and that, for the moment, everything will continue as we have been working," he added.
The minister said that the government is thoroughly analyzing the issue and is seeking to reassure the markets that are watching what will happen with Petroperú.
"We want to reassure the markets because everyone is paying attention to this, and rightly so, obviously," he said.
“I don’t want to say in advance whether there will be financial support, whether there will be optimization and austerity measures. Obviously, this needs to be analyzed in depth and I don’t want to take any chances. We have the best will, even after analyzing everything that has happened, because this is a consequence of many years,” he added.
