"Our goal is to continue leading with innovation and sustainability, adding value to our users and contributing to the development of the region," says Juan Pablo Rivera, CEO of Grupo ZFB.

The Bogotá Free Trade Zone (ZFB) announced this Monday its international expansion into Panama, reinforcing its position as a global reference industrial hub , and through the Panamanian market it seeks to boost the competitiveness and logistical efficiency of its users in the region.

According to the CEO of Grupo ZFB, Juan Pablo Rivera, the free zone has been a pioneer in the creation of a digital ecosystem that allows the automation of critical processes, such as the entry and exit of goods, vehicles and people.

He added that this model will be replicated in Panama, where the PICIZ platform, used in Bogotá, will be integrated into local operations.

“Thanks to technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), the platform will guarantee an optimized logistics flow and minimize operational errors,” said Rivera.

He highlighted that the incorporation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and Business Intelligence (BI) dashboards in operations in Panama will allow for more precise strategic planning and proactive data-driven decision-making.

"Our goal is to continue leading with innovation and sustainability, providing value to our users and contributing to the development of the region," said Rivera.

In addition, the advanced security infrastructure that has made the ZFB a benchmark will also be implemented in Panama, so the automated access control and 24/7 surveillance systems will be aligned with international cybersecurity standards, providing a safe environment for both companies and merchandise transiting through the area.

ZFB's recent participation in ExpoPark Panama 2024 was key to promoting these technological and sustainable innovations, attracting new investments and strategic alliances in the region.
