Marketing of the product abroad was restarted with a first shipment in the Paraguayan market exceeding 40 thousand liters.

The export of lubricants by Ancap, the Uruguayan state-owned company, had been on hold during 2023 due to a question of "prices and competitiveness," according to the entity. However, based on a market and price analysis that was favorable for both customers and Ancap, the company decided to resume the international business of this product.

Specifically, in recent weeks, the company has made progress in marketing lubricants in the Paraguayan market, with a first shipment exceeding 40 thousand liters.

According to the state-owned company's explanation to El Observador , the Uruguayan market has an annual volume of 18 million liters between all brands (with a representation as a group of around 40%) so they consider it necessary to go out and look for other market options. "We have been trying to look for commercial opportunities outside of borders for a long time," Ancap explained.

In this context, they view the Paraguayan market with great optimism, since it has an annual volume of 40 million liters, double that of Uruguay, and it does not have its own production.

"Our intention is to export to countries in the region: Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil," the state-owned company announced.
