The Argentine government on Tuesday set new prices for biodiesel and bioethanol, based on corn and sugar cane, which must be mixed with fuels for consumption in the country, according to two resolutions published in the Official Gazette.
One of the publications of the Energy Secretariat, which is part of the Ministry of Economy, raised the minimum purchase price of biodiesel for combination with diesel to 1,004,562 pesos per ton (about US$ 1,016.76), from the previous 984,865 pesos.
Another official resolution reported that the value of sugarcane-based bioethanol was set at 670,564 pesos per liter (about US$ 0.68), from the previous 657,416 pesos per liter, and said that the amount for bioethanol made from corn was modified to 614,596 pesos per liter (about US$ 0.62), from a previous value of 602,545 pesos.
The new amounts will apply "for operations to be carried out during the month of October 2024 and until the publication of a new price to replace it," both publications confirmed.
The resolutions of the Ministry of Energy will enter into "force as of the date of their publication."
