The company is confident that its exploration and drilling strategy will contribute to production expansion.
Anglo American - Quellaveco Mine Geology and Geomet Superintendent Eddy Benavente recently shared his projections for the coming year, highlighting a strategic plan focused on expanding production and optimizing operations at the Quellaveco mining unit.
Benavente explained to the Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers (IIMP) that in 2025 the company will continue its exploration and infill drilling program, with the aim of ensuring an increase in production levels.
However, he stressed that this growth will depend on obtaining the necessary permits.
“For next year, we have a growth plan. Currently, we are in an exploration and infill drilling program that will allow us to grow. Obviously, there is an expectation of increasing the level of production,” said Benavente.
Regarding the status of permits, Benavente said that the company is in the study phase, with an operational strategy focused on efficiently managing this process.
“For next year, there is a plan to evaluate growth and see the impact. We are managing that,” he added.
“The plan is to maintain production. Obviously, what the company is doing strategically is to manage the projection that could be feasible for a change. It is not so easy to grow in a mine,” he said.
Despite the challenges, Anglo American remains optimistic, committed to increasing its production and obtaining the necessary permits for the growth and expansion of the mine.
