In recent days, the Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Desilú León, also highlighted the performance of foreign trade in textiles and clothing in Peru.
He indicated that, of the US$ 1.483 billion of these exports, 73% corresponded to clothing and 27% to textiles (fibers, fabrics and yarns).
In the period from January to November 2024, textile and clothing exports reached 103 destinations, with growth to Colombia (34.2%) standing out.
The United States remains the main destination market for this sector. At a regional level, Lima leads as the first exporting region, representing 71% of the total, followed by Arequipa (14%) and Ica (10%).
