The arrival of different airlines such as JetSmart, Emirates, Gol, Edelweiss, and the growth of companies such as Latam Airlines, Avianca, Delta and Iberia, is one of the factors that drove this growth.

More than 56 million passengers traveled through Colombia's air terminals between January and December 2024, representing an increase of 7,097,000 compared to 2023; which in percentage terms indicates a year-on-year variation of 14.3%.

This was announced on Monday by the Civil Aeronautics Analytical Office, which assessed the increase in domestic flights, which rose to over 33.3 million passengers, with a variation of 12.1%, as fundamental.

In addition, there has been significant movement to and from Colombia on international flights with more than 23.2 million passengers, generating an increase of 17.8% compared to 2023. "This is the result of the high interest in enjoying Colombia and international trust," says Civil Aeronautics.

The arrival of different airlines such as JetSmart, Emirates, Gol, Edelweiss, and the growth of companies such as Latam Airlines, Avianca, Delta and Iberia, among others, allowed, through the expansion of connectivity, Colombia and its airport services to tirelessly dedicate their efforts to generate the aforementioned figures.

"Civil Aeronautics begins the year 2025 presenting a historic balance of the behavior of passenger and cargo air transport during the immediately preceding year, which, for the first time in history, registered record figures demonstrating that Colombia is advancing every day in improving its capabilities, being at the forefront of the world," the air system control body has highlighted.

The increase in passengers is accompanied by significant figures for cargo and mail movement during 2024, which reached record figures of 944,237 tonnes, generating a variation of 75,130 tonnes compared to 2023, both nationally and internationally.

During 2025, the Civil Aeronautics has assured that it will continue to work hand in hand with all actors in the air sector to advance in better conditions and thus continue to promote connectivity to and from Colombia.
