The multinational's revenues totaled US$25.92 billion, 1.7% more than a year earlier in absolute terms.
The American fast food chain McDonald's closed the 2024 financial year with a net profit of US$8,223 million (7,963 million euros), which represents a 2.9% decrease compared to the previous year, the company reported.
The multinational with the golden arches' revenues totaled US$ 25.92 billion (25.1 billion euros), 1.7% more than a year earlier in absolute terms, while in comparable terms, discounting the exchange rate and variations in the company's accounting perimeter, McDonald's revenues decreased by 0.1%.
Revenue from company-owned restaurants increased by 0.4% to US$9.782 billion (9.473 billion euros), while revenue from commissions and fees charged to franchisees increased by 1.8% to US$15.715 billion (15.218 billion euros).
Comparable sales in the U.S. increased 0.2% for the year. Revenues in the international operated markets segment decreased 0.2% and 0.3% in the international development licensed markets segment.
Between October and December, McDonald's net profit fell by 1% to US$2,017 million (1,953 million euros), while revenue fell by 0.3% to US$6,388 million (6,186 million euros), although it grew by 0.4% on a comparable basis.
Specifically, revenue from its own restaurants amounted to US$2.31 billion (2.237 billion euros), 6.6% less, while that from franchises reached US$3.958 billion (3.833 billion euros), 2.3% more.
On a comparable basis, McDonald's sales decreased 1.4% in the quarter, while they increased 0.1% in internationally operated markets and 4.1% in internationally licensed markets.
