According to Deputy Minister of Tourism Madeleine Burns, the country is on Air Canada's priority list as one of the most attractive destinations for restarting operations.

Turkish Airlines confirmed its entry into Peru in the first half of 2025, according to information provided today by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) of the Andean country, during its participation in the “Routes Americas 2025” event for the commercial aviation industry, in Nassau, Bahamas.

Deputy Minister of Tourism Madeleine Burns said that at this event Peru seeks to strengthen its image as an international tourist destination by promoting strategic alliances with international airlines and the opening of new destinations, as well as the promotion of inbound tourism.

Burns added that during the fair, new opportunities for connecting with destinations in North America, Latin America and the Caribbean have been identified, which are expected to materialize in the short and medium term.

First achievements

During the event, the Vice Minister of Tourism highlighted as one of the first results of the activities the confirmation of the entry of Turkish Airlines, a Turkish airline, to Peru for the first half of 2025.

Peru is also on Air Canada's priority list as one of the most attractive destinations for restarting operations.

Burns explained that these activities seek to strengthen air service networks in Peru, as well as encourage the opening of new routes and the increase in frequencies, thus contributing to the development of tourism activity and economic growth.

Similarly, the country seeks to establish strategic alliances with international airlines to position our country in the global market.

Valuable information has also been obtained on current trends in the commercial aviation sector in a context of reactivation and recovery of global connectivity, which is essential for the development of inbound tourism.

It should be noted that in the coming days, Deputy Minister Burns and the Peruvian representatives in attendance will participate in bilateral meetings with government authorities from the Americas region, focused on the administration and regulation of aviation.

On the other hand, the interest of the main national operators to increase and consolidate their national and international operations is being confirmed given the sustained growth that Peru has shown and the strategic alliances of both Promperú in the promotion of issuing markets and the incentive plans of airport operators.
