Peruvian President Dina Boluarte swore in Julio Diaz Zulueta as the new Minister of the Interior.
Díaz Zulueta, who served as Deputy Minister of Public Security in the ministry, replaces Juan José Santiváñez, who was censured this Friday by Congress. His resignation was accepted today by the Executive Branch.
The current head of the Ministry of the Interior (Mininter) is a retired general in the Peruvian National Police. He has more than 40 years of experience in the public sector and has focused his work on Citizen Security and Community Outreach.
"For Peru and for my family, I swear," was the formula used by Díaz when he took the oath of office.

Julio Diaz Zulueta holds a degree in Education with a specialization in Language and Literature; a bachelor's degree in Administration and Police Sciences; and a Master's degree in National Defense and Development (CAEN) and another in Administration, Police Sciences, and Public Management.
He is also the author of the book "Success Stories of a Commissioner," published by IDÉELE. Throughout his career, he has been recognized as the national winner of the Commissioner of the Year award in 2001 and a finalist on several occasions for the Best Practices in Public Management awards.
In addition to his experience with the National Police, he has taught at the National Vocational Training School and served as a citizen security advisor to various regional governments.
