The Vice Minister of Internal Trade and Logistics said that for the harvest they project 14.2 million quintals of the product.
The Bolivian Government and representatives of the Sugarcane Planning Committee agreed this Tuesday to expedite the export of sugar, which in this administration is projected to reach more than 4.2 million quintals, reported the Vice Minister of Internal Trade and Logistics, Gróver Lacoa.
The authority said that these production volumes represent “almost double” those of the last administration.
“This year we plan to export 4.2 million quintals, which is, obviously; almost double what we exported last year, when we reached 2.3 million quintals; without affecting the internal market.”

At the meeting, where representatives of the country's sugar industries also participated, the sugar complex was evaluated; production data and product export.
"We are projecting 14.2 million quintals of sugar for this harvest, a figure higher than what we had recorded in the previous harvest, which will allow for a greater exportable balance for the sugarcane and sugar sector," Lacoa assured.
In the last harvest, more than 2.3 million quintals were exported, 21% more than the external sales generated in the previous harvest; when they reached more than 1.9 million quintals.
The vice minister considered that the sugar sector is going through one of its best moments.
In this regard, the Vice Minister of Industrialization Policies, Luis Siles, said that the export of sugar cane is freed.
«The export of sugar cane is free, there is a small procedure that involves a request that will be reduced to its minimum expression; Before it was a little longer. Now there is a request to the Ministry of Productive Development and Plural Economy and, through the Vice Ministry of Internal Trade; Export certificates are delivered practically immediately.
