Brazil is evaluating options to import natural gas from the western Argentine field, while trying to alleviate its deficit.
The Foreign Ministers of Brazil, Mauro Vieira, and Argentina, Diana Mondino, spoke on Monday about the construction of a gas pipeline from Vaca Muerta and said that there is an alignment of interests regarding the future possibility of importing Argentine natural gas to Brazil.
The latter country is evaluating options to import natural gas from Argentina's huge Vaca Muerta reserves as it seeks to alleviate its deficit, according to Brazilian government officials.
As recalled, Vaca Muerta is a huge shale formation located in the southwest of Buenos Aires, considered key to increase the South American country's gas supply and reduce the need for costly imports.
