The subsidiary of the Colombian state oil company seeks to strengthen its presence in the US market, especially in Houston (Texas), considered the world's capital of hydrocarbons.

Ecopetrol Group inaugurated the offices of its subsidiary Ecopetrol US Trading in Houston (Texas), considered the capital of the hydrocarbons industry worldwide. Since its opening in the third quarter of 2023, the subsidiary has managed to market a monthly average of 4,600,000 barrels of products.

The firm seeks to contribute to energy transition objectives through initiatives in the US petrochemical market. This is of great relevance for Ecopetrol Group.

“Ecopetrol US Trading is a fundamental pillar within our internationalization strategy. Being located in Houston, we have the possibility of being closer to the market and customers to continue marketing our own products and petrochemicals, as well as to continue consolidating our presence in the US market,” explained Felipe Trujillo, Vice President of Commercial and Marketing at Ecopetrol.

With this new subsidiary, Ecopetrol Group seeks to position itself in the market with a greater volume of products and petrochemicals marketed in coming years.
