The Mexican airline Aeroméxico and the Italian ITA Airways have signed this Thursday a codeshare agreement that will allow their customers to enjoy a wide network of destinations and benefits between these two countries starting next March 10.
Thus, customers traveling with Aeroméxico on the Mexico City-Rome route will be able to connect with 15 destinations in Italy through Fiumicino International Airport, and ITA Airways passengers will have access to 28 destinations operated by Aeroméxico from Fiumicino International Airport. For the route between Mexico City and Rome, Aeroméxico will continue to use the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Since this fleet entered service, it has stopped emitting 160 billion carbon dioxide (CO2) and, thanks to the composition of its engine, it can reduce noise during takeoff and landing by 60%.
ITA Airways' current fleet is made up of 83 Airbus devices, including 40 of the latest generation. These are aircraft from the Airbus A320neo family, as well as the A220-300, A220-100, A330-900 and A350-900 models.
With this new alliance with ITA Airways, Aeroméxico has a total of 36 codeshare agreements in just two years since the beginning of its operations.
