Mercado Libre will invest more than US$5.78 billion in Brazil in 2025

This investment figure represents a 47.8% increase in investments compared to the previous year.

Mercado Libre, the Latin American e-commerce giant, will invest 34 billion Brazilian reais (US$ 5.787 billion) in Brazil during 2025 in its plant in Cajamar (Sao Paulo) and will hire 14,000 more people this year, reaching 50,000 employees in the country.

This investment figure represents a 47.8% increase in investments compared to the previous year. Regarding employment, over the past two years, including the 14,000 jobs that will be created by 2025 compared to last year, the company has generated nearly 30,000 formal jobs in Brazil.

In announcing this year's investments, Fernando Yunes, Senior Vice President of Mercado Libre in Brazil, emphasized that "the Brazilian market is one of the most competitive in the world for e-commerce."

For his part, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has indicated that he will continue to develop actions to boost the economy and improve the quality of life of Brazilians. "I still want to do many things in this country, because what interests me is seeing these people with their heads held high, seeing Brazilians living better, eating better, studying better, and traveling better," he expressed.
