Despite the political-electoral factor that has generated uncertainty in the economy reflected in the stock market, the president of the AMDA trusted that the “bubble” of uncertainty is temporary and does not affect consumer confidence.

Derived from greater competition, price reductions and consumer confidence, the automotive industry in Mexico expects to exceed the commercialization of 1 million 500,000 light vehicles by the end of 2024, a figure that would place it at a level very close to its historical maximum of 1 .6 million units registered in 2016, highlighted Guillermo Rosales, president of the Mexican Association of Automotive Distributors (AMDA).

Despite the political-electoral factor that has generated uncertainty in the economy reflected in the stock market, the manager trusted that the “bubble” of uncertainty is temporary and does not affect consumer confidence.

Interviewed within the framework of the Self-Financing Forum organized by the AMDA, its president stated that there is a positive outlook for the sale of light vehicles and growth of up to 10% compared to 2023, which would represent leaving the “slump” of years ago.

"Our estimate is above 1 million 460,000 units. However, I see favorable conditions to be closer to 1 and a half million units. It is very good news, which will allow us to leave behind the slump that we faced in recent years. ", said.

He said that a bubble persists, caused by the situation of uncertainty, by political decisions, "we finally trust that there is an institutional response that gives confidence to the markets and does not transfer this bubble of uncertainty to the real economy as the factors that they mention in one price spiral.

For his part, the president of AMDA pointed out that the industry has the potential to increase self-financed sales and integrate a greater number of consumers, even those located in the informal sector.
