Pemex reports a 2.9% decrease in crude oil exports in January

Oil sales to the United States fell by 33% in the same period, according to reports from the Mexican state company.

Crude oil exports from Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) stood at 950,931 barrels per day on average in January, which decreased 2.9% compared to the previous year, largely due to oil sales to the United States They fell by 33% in the same period, according to state reports.

In fact, the company's oil exports have decreased by 16.7% compared to the last year of the previous administration and by almost 19% in a decade.

The federal government assured since the arrival of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador that it would seek to replace crude oil exports with the use of this resource for refining within the country.

The value reported by Pemex for crude oil exports has not increased either, since it was 2,022 million dollars in January 2024, an annual reduction of 1.22%. In a decade, this has fallen by 38.5%, according to Pemex.
