This is a financing granted to Cálidda for US$ 90 million.

The Bank of Nova Scotia, parent company of Scotiabank Peru, grants its new sustainability-linked loan in Peru. This is the fourth loan of this type that the bank has granted so far this year, totaling US$ 227 million in sustainable financing in the Peruvian financial sector.

This fourth disbursement, classified as a Sustainability Linked Term Loan , was granted to Cálidda for an amount of US$ 90 million over a five-year term and offers financial incentives for Cálidda to optimize its sustainability processes.

As a result of this financing, Cálidda obtains a better rate due to its commitment to meeting sustainability goals such as submitting a sustainability report prepared by S&P Global, which reflects improvements in the company's overall ESG (environmental, social and governance) profile, and the reduction in the intensity of CO2 emissions per year.

“As financial partners of the country's leading companies, at Scotiabank we are aware of the role we play in business decision-making and we encourage companies to drive a sustainable future. This new disbursement, linked to sustainability objectives, demonstrates Scotiabank's commitment to the development of Peru, and evidences the support we provide to our clients in guiding and integrating their financial needs related to their sustainability objectives,” said Maricela Panduro Falcón, Vice President of Corporate Banking and Capital Markets, Scotiabank Peru.

“At Cálidda, we continue with the firm purpose of bringing savings and progress to nearly 8 million Peruvians in Lima and Callao through our provision of natural gas services. To date, we have deployed 17,943 kilometers of networks, and we are grateful for the trust placed in us by Scotiabank with this new financing, which will not only allow us to continue providing the best service to more Peruvians, but also reconfirm our firm purpose of growing sustainably. Thus, this would be the second financing under a sustainability framework with Scotiabank and the fourth for Cálidda,” said Mario Caballero Rosazza, Cálidda's Director of Finance.

Scotiabank also financed, through its sustainable financing proposal, more than US$ 10 million to a major company in the office sector, US$ 100 million to a company specializing in energy marketing and generation, and nearly US$ 27 million to one of the main supermarket chains in Peru.
