In this regard, Finance Minister Mario Marcel commented that this trip demonstrates the country's interest in expanding trade ties with other countries.

Chile has made several meetings and made progress in its relationship with India. Last year, the Asian powerhouse hosted the "Chile Summit India," an event where various representatives sought to position both our country's image and opportunities for trade at various levels.

And in this regard, it was confirmed that President Gabriel Boric himself will undertake a trip to the aforementioned country (officially called Bharat) in the coming days.

BORIC WILL TRAVEL TO INDIA TO STRENGTHEN COMMERCIAL TIES

According to Pulso, the president's diplomatic tour will run from March 30 to April 6, during which he will seek to strengthen economic relations with India, currently the most populous country in the world.

In this regard, Finance Minister Mario Marcel commented that this trip demonstrates the country's interest in expanding trade ties with other countries.

"Chile continues to see trade and exports as an engine of growth and development. We continue to seek to expand our trade ties with the world, incorporating trade agreements with other countries, in this case an economy as important as India," Marcel said.

Chile and India have a trade agreement that came into force in August 2007. This “Partial Scope Agreement” (PSA) was deepened ten years later.

According to data from the Undersecretariat of International Economic Relations (Subrei), in 2023, the Asian country was Chile's 11th largest trading partner, with a total trade of US$2.8 billion.

By 2024, with cumulative figures through September, the value of trade between the two countries had already reached the same level as the previous year.

Regarding ProChile (Chile Summit India), one of the highlights was the outreach to the Indian film industry, popularly known as Bollywood.

In this sense, the goal was to share Chile's image as a good destination for filming productions such as series or movies.

This song was part of the closing promotional activity in that country, which has already begun to bear fruit, as three producers visited various locations in early March.
