Gaston Bottazzini will remain in office until January 1, 2024.
Today, Tuesday, it was announced that the general manager of Falabella SA, Gaston Bottazzini, presented his resignation from the company's board of directors after five years in office.
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1969, he took over as CEO of Falabella in June 2018. On the Falabella investor website, they highlight that during his management “he has developed a strategy to build a leading Physical-Digital ecosystem in the region. Under his leadership, the acquisition of Linio, the launch of the Falabella.com marketplace, and the creation of Fpay, the group's payment processor and digital wallet, stand out.”
This decision occurs in the midst of a turbulent panorama that is plaguing the Chilean retail giant, thanks to a series of poor financial results, along with the dismissal of workers both nationally and in other countries that have the company's presence.
"WE WILL REAP ALL THE FRUITS OF THE EFFORTS MADE"
Through a statement issued from Falabella, the executive noted that "in all these years we have undertaken many initiatives, we have had successes, and we have made mistakes, both have contributed to a process in which we have grown a lot as an organization."
“I am sure that over the next few years we will reap all the fruits of the efforts made during the company's challenging digitalization process,” he added.
However, the executive will remain in office until January 1, 2024.
In turn, the president of the board of directors of Falabella SA, Enrique Ostalé, stated that “we appreciate Gaston's relevant contribution to the development of the company with different responsibilities.”
“We highlight your commitment and leadership. We will continue to rely on his vast experience, strategic vision of the business, and analytical capacity during the process of succession to his position,” the official statement states.
