Ecuador continues to focus its tourism promotion on the European market

The Andean country closed 2023 with a recovery of the European market in terms of the number of visitors to the country, which represented 82% compared to 2019, and it is estimated that this will reach almost its entirety (98%) by 2024.

Ecuador has launched a new strategy to promote its country brand in the European market, especially focusing its activity on Germany, France, Spain and the United Kingdom, which stand out as key markets due to their high level of interest in the country, as well as the characteristics and demands of the local traveler.

Its new promotion plan is in line with the demand for high-impact European traveler experiences, a traveler with cultural concern and responsible decision-making.

Destination Ecuador prioritizes the promotion of sustainable tourism from an environmental, social and economic point of view, which supports and has a positive impact on local communities.

This strategy will be executed through actions that value products and experiences that, due to their cultural and aspirational component, provide transformative experiences for the traveler, connecting with the idiosyncrasy of Ecuador, its traditions, ancestral culture and multi-biodiversity.

PARTICIPATION IN INTERNATIONAL AND NICHE FAIRS

This year, Ecuador will be present at LATA Expo, which will be held in London, between June 24 and 26, already a regular at the most important event for Latin American tourism in Europe and will be accompanied by different local companies.

Likewise, he will attend Global BirdFair again in July, where he will show bird watching circuits and the endemic species that Ecuador has to environmental protection organizations, NGOs and wildlife tour operators.

Ecuador continues to focus on gastronomy as a differential value of the destination and will enhance this area of promotion through different activities.

This axis is materialized in participation in events and fairs such as the National Geographic Traveler Food Festival in London from July 20 to 21, in addition to the promotion of the Origen del Cacao brand, launched the previous year, which celebrates the discovery of the cocoa bean. cocoa as the country of origin.

In addition to its presence at fairs, Destination Ecuador reinforces its relationship with European tour operations, industry and media through different promotional actions that support travelers' knowledge of their segments and experiences.
