Scotiabank denies rumors of eventual departure from Peru and reaffirms commitment to the local financial market

The bank thus responds to the publication made by the Chilean media Diario Financiero Sud and that has circulated on some social networks in Peru, in relation to its poor performance in the country, which could lead to the sale of the subsidiary.

The Canadian entity Bank of Nova Scotia, which operates as Scotiabank, has denied that it is going to leave Peru, while at the same time it has reaffirmed its commitment to the growth and development of the Peruvian financial market.

The bank thus responds to the publication made by the Chilean media Diario Financiero Sud and that has circulated on some social networks in Peru, in relation to its poor performance in the country, which could lead to the sale of the subsidiary.

The bank has been convinced that its new strategy, focused on being the financial partner of its clients, will be of great value to continue promoting the economic growth of the Andean country.

Scotiabank Perú is one of the most relevant banks in the Peruvian financial system, and as highlighted by the entity itself, its operation is distinguished by its financial robustness, supported by solid assets, "an essential element in the financial sector."

Furthermore, despite the entity's low results in Peru, this is evidenced by the recent improvement in ratings by credit agencies such as Fitch, Moody's and S&P.
