25% of light vehicles sold in the country come from China, states the Automotive Association of Peru.
The Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with China has been a significant driver of sales of Chinese vehicles in Peru, offering competitive prices, quality and equipment that attract consumers looking for an excellent quality-price ratio, said the president of the Automotive Association of Peru (AAP), Karsten Kunckel.
Karsten Kunckel will be part of the official delegation that will accompany President Dina Boluarte on a diplomatic and economic trip to China.
This visit aims to strengthen bilateral relations and promote foreign investment in strategic sectors of Peru.
The inclusion of Kunckel in this mission highlights the importance of the automotive industry in trade relations between Peru and China.
According to the AAP, around 25% of light vehicles sold in the country come from China, evidencing the constant growth and advances in safety and technology of these brands, key factors in the preference of Peruvians.
During the official trip, the delegation will participate in various activities, highlighting the visit to the BYD (Build Your Dreams) plant, one of the main Chinese automotive companies. “This visit underlines the interest in exploring and fostering collaboration with leading companies in automotive innovation and technology,” says Karsten Kunckel.
