For that month, market projections were betting on a variation of around 0% to 0.2%, although warning of the greater increases that would be recorded starting in July.
This Monday the National Institute of Statistics (INE) of Chile reported that in June 2024, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) recorded a monthly variation of -0.1%.
The index accumulates 2.4% in the year and 4.2% in twelve months with respect to the spliced series of the index.

The INE detailed that six of the thirteen divisions that make up the CPI basket contributed negative impacts on the monthly variation of the index, six presented positive impacts and one division registered zero impact.
Among the divisions that presented decreases in their prices, clothing and footwear stood out (-6.1%), with -0.167 percentage points (pp.), and home equipment and maintenance (-2.2%), with -0.134 pp. .
“The remaining divisions that had a negative influence contributed together with -0.250pp,” said the INE.
Of the divisions that recorded monthly increases in their prices, food and non-alcoholic beverages stood out (1.3%), with an incidence of 0.287pp.
By products, the entity highlighted the movement of gasoline, which in June presented a monthly decrease of 2.2%, contributing -0.081pp. to the variation of the general indicator. It accumulated 5.2% in the sixth month of the year.
While liquefied gas registered a monthly decrease of 2.4%, with -0.037pp., accumulating 6.4% so far this year.
International air transport, meanwhile, recorded a monthly decrease of 10.7%, with an incidence of -0.056pp., and a variation of -30.4% so far this year.
Lemons recorded a monthly decrease of 20.8%, with -0.036pp., accumulating -6.1% in 2024.
The electricity supply, on the other hand, reported a monthly increase of 7.2%, with an incidence of 0.155pp., registering a variation of 9.2% so far this year.
While tomatoes showed a monthly increase of 21.8%, with 0.066pp., accumulating 11.6% so far in 2024.
