Sugar and cereals are the groups that have shown the lowest prices.
After the inflationary wave that occurred during 2022 and 2023, prices around the world have managed to stabilize.
Globally, a downward trend in food prices has been observed so far in 2024.
During June 2024, the reference indicator for world prices of food products registered a drop of 3.8% year-on-year, according to figures from the FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations).
The products that registered the most pronounced contractions were: sugar with -22.9%, cereals with -10.6% and meats with -3.5%.
For its part, it was observed that oil and dairy products recorded an increase in prices at their global level.
