Production prices in the US take flight in June by 0.2% compared to stagnation in May

The government agency has explained that this circumstance has occurred due to an increase in demand for services of 0.6%, which has been tempered by a decrease of 0.5% in the demand for goods.

The producer price index (PPI) of the United States registered a rise of 0.2% last June, which contrasts with the stagnation of May, as revealed this Friday by the Bureau of Labor Statistics of the country's Department of Labor.

The government agency has explained that this circumstance has occurred due to an increase in demand for services of 0.6%, which has been tempered by a decrease of 0.5% in the demand for goods.

The underlying production inflation index, which excludes the impact of energy, food and commerce due to the greater volatility of their prices, recorded a flat reading, two tenths less than the previous mark.

In year-on-year data, general prices were 2.6% above the levels of the sixth month of 2023, while the underlying prices did the same by 3.1%.

The same statistical division of the US Department of Labor reported yesterday that the consumer price index (CPI) of the world power remained at 3% year-on-year in June, which translated into a slowdown of three tenths .

Afterwards, the underlying variable closed with an increase of 3.3%, one tenth less than the previous month and its lowest mark since April 2021. For its part, groceries became more expensive by 2.2% year-on-year, while the Energy was 1% more expensive in June than twelve months earlier.
