The ProChile Market Intelligence Department released the export figures for the first half of 2024, where among the main findings of the report the increase in national shipments to Brazil stands out.
Indeed, this country stands as the third destination market for our non-copper, non-lithium exports with US$ 1,429 million during the first six months of the year, with an increase of 9.3% compared to the same period in 2023, receiving the 6.34% of our total shipments to the world. Exports of fresh fruit stand out, which have had an increase of 63.6% compared to 2023.
These figures place Brazil in third place in our total shipments, surpassed only by China (US$ 5,103 million and the United States (US$ 4,782 million).
In this regard, the Commercial Director of ProChile in Brazil, Hugo Corales, highlighted that “the numbers respond to the good positioning that our country has as a food supplier and that, together with great ambassadors such as salmon and wine, they position Chile as a supplier. reliable in this market.”
"Likewise, he adds that “the report shows notable increases in shipments of fresh apples (US$ 51 million, +127.3%), fresh plums (US$ 27 million, +42%), fresh onions (US$ 27 million , +999.2%) and olive oil (US$ 22 million, +84.6%); which on the one hand speaks of the development of consistent and long-term work, carried out together with companies and associations; from the private sector, but also from the diversity and quality of our offer.”
ACTIVITIES IN BRAZIL 2024
As a way to promote relations between both countries, from September 30 to October 4, ProChile will hold Chile Week Brazil 2024, the largest business, investment and tourism meeting in South America. The activity will have an agenda in both Sao Paulo and Brasilia and Belo Horizonte.
“During Chile Week Brazil we will have a large business conference, commercial pitches, technical seminars, field visits, workshops and networking activities, as a way to publicize the various business opportunities that exist between both countries in the food sector. , mining and tourism,” added Corales.
