Aircraft manufacturer Embraer earns US$ 134 million in June and leaves behind a streak of losses

The company has increased its revenues by almost 19% in the first six months of the year in year-on-year terms, up to US$ 2,390 million.

Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer posted a net profit of US$134.9 million in the first half of the year, compared to a loss of US$98.8 million in the same period last year.

The company has increased its revenue by almost 19% in the first six months of the year in interannual terms, up to US$ 2.39 billion, it reported this Thursday through its results report.

By business segment, Embraer has seen an 11% increase in revenue in executive aviation, while it has doubled its turnover in the defence and security area. Commercial aviation revenues have increased by 17% and those in the services and support area by 19% year-on-year.

Costs, meanwhile, have increased by 18.5% compared to the first half of 2023, to US$1,982 million.

Operating profit, meanwhile, was US$124 million, almost six times the figure achieved in the same half of the previous year. Gross operating profit (EBITDA) was 92.7% higher than the previous year, reaching US$215.9 million.

Embraer invested a total of US$ 107.1 million in the second quarter compared to US$ 91 million between April and June 2023, driven by growth in training services (simulators), maintenance and business aviation.
