Together with the iconic Jetta model, the automaker's total production exceeded thirty thousand units in the seventh month of the year.
With 14,773 vehicles sold, the Volkswagen Group recorded a 28.7% growth in vehicle sales during the seventh month of the year.
According to INEGI data, during July Volkswagen de México increased production of the Volkswagen Taos and Volkswagen Tiguan SUVs at the Puebla plant by 21.8% compared to the same period last year. Of the former, it manufactured 7,645 units, while of the latter it manufactured 17,306 units, which consolidates the German automaker's strategy for this segment.
In addition to the production of the Taos and Tiguan models, there are 5,244 units of the Volkswagen Jetta model, an iconic sedan that last July registered a new milestone in its manufacturing, with the start of production of the New Jetta. In total, the German automaker produced 30,205 units in the seventh month of the year.
In the cumulative period from January to July, production of 232,399 vehicles was recorded, which is 24.1% more than in the same period in 2023.
“These results are another example of our commitment to quality manufacturing done by Mexican hands, which led us to begin, in July, the production of the New Jetta, an iconic model that has positioned itself as a benchmark in its segment thanks to its manufacturing attributes; in addition to this, the relevance of our Puebla plant in Volkswagen's strategy for the SUV segment,” said Holger Nestler, President and CEO of Volkswagen de México .
Volkswagen Group brands sold 14,773 vehicles in July, 28.7 percent more than in the same month in 2023.
This increase also occurred in the period from January to July, when 97,512 units were sold, 21.3% more than the previous year, when 80,386 units were sold in the domestic market.
With these results, the German automaker reaffirms its position as the third multi-brand corporation in the country with 11.7% market penetration, according to INEGI data reported by the Mexican Association of Automobile Distributors (AMDA).
