This Friday, and after resuming talks with the Labor Directorate (DT), the suspension of the legal strike by Union No. 1 of Minera Escondida was announced.
This was specifically after reaching a consensus on a proposal for a collective agreement. In this way, the mobilization will be suspended as of 08:00 hours today.
The strike began on Tuesday, August 13, when Union No. 1 and BHP failed to reach an agreement within the framework of collective bargaining.
Subsequently, in accordance with the regular procedure, both parties went to mandatory mediation before the Labor Inspectorate, where the talks also failed to prosper.

The company confirmed this in a brief statement, indicating that after resuming negotiations with the DT, Escondida BHP and Workers' Union No. 1 "a consensus was reached on a collective contract proposal" and that in addition "it was agreed to suspend the legal strike as of 08:00 this Friday, August 15."
