Negotiations are expected to advance next November during APEC.
Peruvian Minister of Agricultural Development and Irrigation, Angel Manero, announced that the Andean country will seek to export frozen fruit, pomegranates and pecans to China, and negotiations are therefore underway to finalize agreements in November.
"We are going to prepare the frozen fruit, pomegranates and pecans agreement so that during the visit of the Chinese president (Xi Jinping) he can sign it with our president (Dina Boluarte) in November," he said on state broadcaster TV Perú .
Angel Manero explained that the objective is to finalize agreements on frozen fruit, pomegranates and pecans in November of this year during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC) Leaders' Summit.
The minister also announced that the protocol for Peru to be able to export meat to the Chinese market will be signed next week, with the arrival in our country of the Vice Minister of the General Administration of Customs of China, Zhao Zenglian.
“On Saturday, the Chinese Vice Minister of Customs is coming. He is the highest health authority and almost never travels, but he is coming so that on Monday we can sign the protocol to export meat to the Chinese market. We have done it in two months, something that normally takes 10 years,” he said.
"The head of the Chinese delegation is the vice-minister who is meeting with me, but there are other officials who are going to visit stables and slaughterhouses, that is, it is a protocol and technical visit," he added.
