During the meeting, it was reported that a mechanism has been created with the Chinese embassy in Peru that will allow any incident involving companies from that country to be resolved through dialogue and friendly solutions.
Both ministers also raised the importance of signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between China and Peru, which will serve as a practical guide to deepen the bilateral relationship. This agreement will not only strengthen trade, but will also allow for progress in joint infrastructure projects in transportation, communications and the implementation of new technologies.
Likewise, the upcoming inauguration of the Chancay Port Terminal was highlighted as an important milestone in bilateral relations. Minister Pérez Reyes invited the Chinese Minister of Transport and the president of the Cosco Shipping company to participate in the inauguration ceremony.
In addition, the importance of developing Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) in Peru was highlighted at the meeting, learning from China's experience in advanced technology applied in its cities.
Pérez Reyes confirmed the Peruvian government's interest in adapting these solutions to local reality to improve the safety and efficiency of transport in the country.
Minister Li Xiaopeng said that efforts will be made to allow Chinese aircraft to arrive in Peru, in response to the request of the Peruvian minister. This initiative would open a new door in trade and transport relations between both nations, connecting Peru with more international destinations.
