The company has not specified "deadlines", "conditions", or the number of workers who could be "reinstated" through the reindustrialization route.

The president of the Bimbo Company Committee in Valladolid (Spain), Félix Fernández, has regretted that the company has not given details of the reindustrialisation plan beyond the confirmation of its contract with the firm LHH, that it maintains "uncertainty" with the social plan and is entrenched in the "definitive closure" of the plant.

The meeting with the company began after 9.15 am when three company executives arrived and lasted until after 1 pm, with a short break of just over ten minutes.

During the meeting, Fernández insisted that, of the "little" that can be "made clear", it is the confirmation that LHH's services have been contracted to prepare the reindustrialisation plan.

A plan for which they have not specified "deadlines", "conditions", or the number of workers who could be "reinstated" using this method.

"We therefore urge the company itself to determine and clarify any doubts we may have about the proposals we may put forward at that meeting next week," he warned.

There has not been much progress on the social plan either. "They have told us little more than we already knew, such as the possibilities of compensation, transfers and exit plans, but they have not given any specific numbers or anything else, so we are still in uncertainty," he added.

The Company Committee maintains its commitment to the "viability" of the plant, although Bimbo is "determined" that the closure is "definitive". Hence, the strike schedule agreed by the workers is being maintained.

The next meeting with the company will be on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week.
