In addition, the new centre will create around 250 new jobs.
Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer will invest US$70 million to expand its maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services network by opening a new service center at Perot Field Alliance Airport in Fort Worth, Texas, to support the growing fleet of E-Jets in the United States.
With the new facility, the manufacturer's capacity to serve E-Jets customers will increase by 53% in the North American country. In addition, it will create approximately 250 new jobs in the aviation sector in Texas.
In collaboration with the City of Fort Worth, Denton County and the State of Texas, Embraer expects to begin operations in an existing hangar early in the second quarter of 2025, while constructing a second hangar that is expected to be completed in 2027.
The new Fort Worth service center will thus join the Brazilian company's global network, which includes 80 authorized centers and 12 service centers worldwide.
"We are very pleased to receive final approval for this important expansion of our MRO business that supports our continued investment in the U.S. market," said Embraer Services & Support President and CEO Carlos Naufel.
Texas City has been selected as a finalist location for the proposed project, subject to approval by local government authorities of certain proposed incentives.
