Peru's Ministry of Foreign Trade said the country will have a new export record for the fourth consecutive year.
Peru's Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Desilú León Chempén, reported that the Andean country's exports, between January and September 2024, reached US$ 53,651 million, with a growth of 14.6% compared to the same period of the previous year. In these months, Peruvian products reached 174 markets.
“Almost all sectors of our national economy have shown growth in their exports abroad. From mining, agriculture, fishing, chemical products, textiles, and metallurgy; this performance confirms that, in 2024, we will obtain a new export record, for the fourth consecutive year,” highlighted the head of Mincetur.
According to the Monthly Foreign Trade Report – September of Mincetur, mining totaled shipments of US$ 34,308 million, with a growth of 14.9%, where exports of copper and gold, the main goods that Peru exports (50% of total exports), stood out, growing 1.7% and 56.1% respectively. Likewise, exports of tin (36.7%), molybdenum (20.8%) and silver concentrates (131.4%) grew.
On the other hand, in agricultural exports, shipments grew 21.6% compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching US$ 8.02 billion.
Higher sales were recorded for cocoa and derivatives (216%), coffee (68.7%), blueberries (41.9%), quinoa beans (41.4%), lemon (31%), avocado (28.6%) and mandarin (26.2%).

It should be noted that in the period January-September 2024, 8,539 exporters (3.4%) were registered. Of the total, 30% export agricultural products (2,527) and 16% export minerals (1,393). 69% of these exporters are micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).
“We are seeing with interest that the number of exporting MSMEs has increased by 4% compared to the same period last year. From Mincetur and Promperú, we continue working hard to provide tools and technical assistance to these companies, so that they can consolidate their shipments and become regular exporters,” reported Minister Desilú León.
