They are interested in the generation and distribution of clean energy.

The Peruvian market is favorable for the development of new international investments in different sectors due to its stability, said Xue Ning, secretary of the board of directors of China Yangtze Power.

"The Peruvian economy is stable, which creates a favorable environment for the development of new investment projects," he told the Andina Agency in a conference convened by the People's Daily of China.

The chairman of the board of directors of Luz del Sur (acquired by the Chinese company Yangtze Power) also commented that among the most attractive sectors for investment in our country are mining, due to the abundance of reserves, and other natural resources.

He also noted that the exchange rate is stable, which is an important factor in attracting new capital.

MORE ENERGY

Xue Ning also commented that they have a broad investment plan in Peru to boost the generation of electricity in the medium and long term.

“In the last two years we have acquired two wind farms in Peru, in addition to the purchase of the Chaglla Hydroelectric Plant,” he said.

He said that they are also investing in improving the electrical grid in Peru.

“We are also looking to expand our investments not only in energy generation but also in distribution,” he said.

For now, our main investments in the region are concentrated in Peru, said the secretary of the board of directors of China Yangtze Power.

“We want to contribute to the development of clean energy and green energy in Peru,” said Xue Ning.

ELECTROMOBILITY

He commented that the objective of the Chinese company in Peru is to boost the electromobility market not only for public transport but also in the private sector.

“The primary plan is that at Luz del Sur we have changed our units towards using clean energy sources,” he said.

He pointed out that one of the main advantages of electromobility is that it is environmentally friendly.

On the other hand, he commented that with the Chancay port up and running, bilateral business will be promoted under better conditions than at present.

"Mutual business will be developed with logistical facilities and at lower costs," he said.
