Once the reform to the Federal Rights Law was approved, the deputies of the commission now began the discussion of the opinion of the Federal Income Law in order to vote on it and approve it as soon as possible.
Once both opinions are approved by the committee, they will be sent to the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Deputies to be discussed and voted on in the plenary session of the lower house during the following days.
In the Economic Package 2025, the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit proposed a reform to the Federal Rights Law to update the fees and increase their collection in areas such as mining, migration (such as fees for services at airports for international passengers), as well as fees charged for the use and exploitation of Protected Natural Areas.
In the case of mining, it is proposed to increase the rate of special mining duties from 7.5 to 8.5 percent, while the rate of extraordinary duties would increase from 0.5 to 1 percent.
